If I need to replace the thermostat on my Daewoo MRF 355 fridge freezer, is it a job that i could do myself? or for the pro. only?

    Thanks

Please don’t take this the wrong way but the very fact you are asking the question tells me that it would be better to call an engineer to attend for you.

What’s the problem with the unit Neil as the thermostat may not be the problem ?

The problem is the fridge keeps is freezing on the inside – down the back panel though mainly at the top of the panel, and also right at the very bottom behind the salad drawer. The freezer seems to be freezing things a bit too well. i.e. icecream goes like concrete rather than soft scoop.

I’m a little concerned the ice is only forming at the top of the back panel as this could indicate a system error.

What could be happening is the “cold” ice is not reaching the thermostat probe so the thermostat never switches off the compressor as it thinks it’s not cold enough.

insulation breakdown can also cause this, I would ask an engineer to check it out for youin all honesty as replacing the thermostat is a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} possibilty on this one.

    Hope this helps.

    Dave.
