    Hi guys,

    I have the dreaded FF92 and in a bit of a situation, fridgeless. Been through all the threads for this, pulling my hair out now!

    P1 error on startup.

    I know your thinking, here we go thermister issue replace yellow and green 🙂 – Been there, and pcb, and motor on previous occasions.

    This is a strange one;

    Initially fridge sat at 18 deg (actual and display) – Freezer was fine.

    Took everything apart and evap fan not running but does work for short time on initial startup(doesnt seem to be getting voltage from connector base).

    Checked all connections and wiring including pcb.

    Problem:
    Temperature for freezer is showing 43 degrees? (its actually cooler and trying to cool but not quite there)

    Fridge is 18 deg as evap fan not running.

    Anyone seen this before?

    Changed yellow thermister for spare I had lying around and same thing.

    Compressor running fine and cleaned.

    Should the evap fan run at the same time as the compressor fan and is it controlled by compressor unit or PCB?

    Anyway to overide it and leave it running constantly for now? Hmm hoping its not the PCB AGAIN!

    Worth me changing both thermistors or bite the bullet and get a cheapy Indesit or Beko? Desperate now as 3 kids and weathers getting hot.

    I have a multimeter and comfortable in trying anything? Drill 2 holes at the back and stick a fan in there running off a car battery for now lol

    Your opinions much appreciated.

    Regards
    Scooby

    Re: Hotpoint FF92 @ 43 degrees? P1 – Help

    Measured resistance on yellow plug @ ambient 18 deg, 3.18 and goes down as it gets warmer, that seems to be working.

    This morning the freezer section was only half cold and the top shelf could be used as a “fridge”.

    Is the PCB and sensor feedback responsible for this part also?

    Re: Hotpoint FF92 @ 43 degrees? P1 – Help

    Does anyone ever come here or dont peeps like to share here lol :mrgreen:

    Update;

    Sorted the strange temperature issue, turned out to be the green thermistor, replaced with a spare yellow one and wired to fit.

    Problem;

    The evap fan wont kick in ie its not getting voltage,although it does come on for a few seconds.

    I assume the PCB controls the evap fan – can someone show how theoretically someone can hard wire the evap fan to always on until I decide on a new cheap fridge (sick of constantly fixing this piece of junk), I suppose any power – + feed from the circuit will do the job?

    Re: Hotpoint FF92 Fridge temp TEMPORARY FIX (SOLVED)? P1 – H

    Temporary fix and fan is running both fridge and freezer gone into cooling mode and maintaining good temp.

    This for those who need a temporary solution to save your food from spoiling and should be done by a qualified engineer where applicable, I am not an engineer but I am a mechanic, and as no one bothered to answer my questions I just went for it and its worked ❗

    I assume the PCB is faulty as its not sending the signal/voltage to fan connector, the readings are very low and pulsing.

    I don’t know of any trade so unwilling to help out the diy man and guarding information like its a state secret fearing there will be one less £90 job out there – Im joking, relax, don’t take it to heart, there are some nice helpful people on here :boops:

    Anyway picture attached of what I did to get it running – might help someone, or might burn your house down lol

    Original picture courtesy of a poster from 2009 – a engineer wired his ff92 directly.

    As you switch it on keep “save” pressed and it run through a reboot/test cycle (worked for me)

    Hope it helps, as that’s what these forums are all about……
