Hi I have a tricity bendix dishwasher TBDW42 with an intermittent heating problem. If I switch the machine off at the mains and leave it for an hour or so it will wash hot on the next couple of cycles then back to cold again. Do you think it’s a pcb problem or a thermostat problem?

YEs its a PCB problem. I have an aeg that does the same. you will find your dishwasher is made by AEG ( Electrolux)
If I turn mine off just for a few mins it will heat but if any of my kids open the door in mid wash it stops heating. This is why i only put mine on late at night and though i’m in the trade the PCB for mine is still £150 ish so a simple turn off and on is what we doIs it worth buying a module off ebay? I have an AEG with the same issue, works perfect one wash then not the next frustrating as anything.
Make sure the product codes match is the key comment here. The product code is written on the sticky rating label with your model number. So ask the seller if he knows what his prod code is if he knows or look your prod code up on the Electrolux spares website by typing in first the model number and then the site will ask you to choose a prod code, if there is only one…life is simple, if 6 versions life will or may not be so the only way then is to see if all the pcbs are all the same which they may or may not be or they could be the same part number but are preprogrammed for each differing version – and you thought this might have been easy, welcome to the domestic appliance world!!! The answer is…..it`s all a gamble!
