Boots is the latest high street chain to launch into the domestic appliance market, with 4,000 products now available online.
The company, which has 1,400 stores across the UK, launched its service last week at www.bootskitchenappliances.co.uk – and has unveiled plans to achieve sales of around £100 million over a 12-month period.
In a move mirroring that of supermarket chain Sainsbury’s and high street decorating specialist Fads, the Boots scheme run by DRL of Bolton.
Under the Boots scheme – as with the Sainsbury’s and Fads initiative before it, Boots will not carry stock in store.
An online site dedicated to electricals, available through the Boots site, but run by DRL, provides both the business end of the operation and a listing of the products available.
