whilst replacing the ever failing wash motor on a Hotpoint LFT114 integrated dishwasher i came upon this problem. fitted new motor reassembled everything, but once plugged in to mains and switched on machine starts to fill without even selecting a program, if i then select a program it carries on filling for about 5 seconds then starts drain pump at same time and flashes the 2nd light from the left as shown in picture. this machine should always run the drain pump at the start of a cycle but this one instantly starts filling. any advice would be gratefully received

Have you looked at the error codes?

If it only started happening after you fitted the new motor then it suggests the new fault is related to something you have done. I don’t have any suggestions as to what though.

Its not something silly like you’ve plugged the heater plug into the motor…

i have fitted a dozen or so of these useless motors and never had any issues, didnt unplug the heater or anything except the motor so cant have the wires in the wrong place. was wondering if some water ran out when removing the old motor onto the inlet valve connector which is directly below the motor. will give it time to dry out then have another look.
