Hi I’m a new user and have searched the forum, and wanted to get advice on my fridge freezer which has suddenly stopped working. Freezer food defrosted and I only later became aware that the fridge is also not working.
I’ve left it unplugged for 24 hrs and restarted but problem is still there.
The display shows high, what I presume are current temperatures. When I performed the diagnostic (2 buttons held down) I didn’t get anything conclusive as all lights/lit up ie digital 8:8).

Any suggestions on what to check or whether its an expensive fix would be appreciated. Its more than 5 yrs old, but I recall that we had a Samsung engineer round in the last yr following a general call to their customer service after reading about some issues on the net.

    Many thank for any advice/observations.

Hi. It could be the compressor has gone. Is it making any kind of noise? Fan running or compressor. When you switch it on if you listen to the back right can you here anything humming or clicking.

    Hi Simon
It is making the usual noise, (but not as loud as its used to ) and the outside shell of the fridge freezer is cooling , but inside its not – neither fridge or freezer. I did hear a click when I started it then it makes the humming noise, but as I earlier, not as loud as before – as if its running on 1 as opposed to 2 fans now. I ‘d appreciate any further comments. Thanks.

From your description of the fault it sounds like the compressor has seized.

Not a cheap or DIY repair.
