    Hello
A friend has a Hotpoint Aquarius Extra machine, model no WMA40. It seems to have developed a leak somewhere but cannot find where. Have tried running it on a rinse and spin when empty and it did not leak. When run with clothes in it then starts leaking, not a large amount but enought to gather on the floor underneath the machine. Where should we start looking to see where the problem may be.

    Regards

Look inside the door seal, pull it back and check for small holes in the sides. Where is the water underneath, back, front, left side, right side?

If no holes in seal then could be coming from drum seal, especially if it’s only under load

Can’t say I have ever seen a drum seal leak unless the drum has been opened up for some reason Andy.

Thanks for the replies, will check the door seal but where is the drum seal?

    Thanks

The drum seal is the gasket that seals the two tubs halves together. Which, in my experience as well as Andy, can leak. 😉

Could also be from the heater seal?

    Hello
Had an engineer come in to check the machine and he traced the fault to the pipe coming from the soap dish which had a crack in it. Repair done and up and running again. Hopefully no more leaks. Thanks for all the advice.
