Hi,
I have two questions that I really need help with please. Our Hotpoint BD31P built in double oven and grill has two faults.
1. The first fault is that the fan in the main oven no longer seems to work (it doesn’t spin around). The oven takes a very long time to get hot and to reheat after the door’s been opened. It’s also not very good at a low temperature. We assume we need to replace the fan motor, but having looked online you seem to be able to buy a fan motor or a fan motor assembly – what’s the difference and which would we be likely to need?
2. Our second problem is that the grill is permanently on the highest heat no matter what grill temperature setting we have the dial at and whether we are using the half grill or the full grill function. Am I right in thinking we need to replace the grill regulator/simmerstat and if so is that the same as what websites refer to as the oven energy regulator (because to me that indicates it’s for the oven and not the grill)? A very old forum answer on this website answering a lady’s similar problem suggested she needed grill regulator part number 6204034?
Your help would be very gratefully received as we are very keen to fix the faults but want to make sure we order the right parts! If you know what parts we need are you able to let me have your best price for them too?
Many thanks.
