I had a call to the above LG Washing machine as it was blowing fuses after about 10 minutes into a wash.
The element was short curcuit so this was ordered and replaced.

After replacing the element when the machine is switched on the display remains blank and the PCB starts to overheat (gives an acrid smell).
If I disconnect the new element the display comes up and allow the machine to be set for a wash.
There are no visible signs of damage to the PCB.

I can only assume the element has caused a fault on the PCB.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with these machines?

In case anyone else has this problem the short curcuit element also damaged the PCB.
Main PCB now replaced and machine working.
