Miele w489 Iwps
Fitted genuine Door seal, but now door latch won’t catch on lock
Removed the 3 bolts on front and I could just about get it to close,
I am going back tomorrow, I hope I don’t need a new lock.

dont know why you fitted gen seal as you can get a non gen for about £10
sounds like the rubber may not be fitted correctly round the door. hope you dont need a new lock that would not be cheap

Went back today and couldn’t get door closed with bolts in, but user really slams it and is able to close it, Never had any with non genuine seals I think I will stick with them.
I offered them both gaskets and said the patent one was good but was surprised when he wonted genuine one. It’s an old machine.
