    Hi All,
    Our SMEG SUK62MFX5 oven is no longer heating the top oven/grill,

    The light will show and the fan will start but there is no heat from the element. I’m guessing this is will be a thermostat but I have no clue which one.

    Could someone offer any suggestions what may be faultly?

    Hi

    It’s most likely the element that has failed. Unless you have a meter and know how to use it then it’s a engineer visit

    I have tested the element an this appears to be OK – is there anything else that may be to blame?

    Small top oven, it’ll be the cooling fan you hear running as it’s not a fan assisted oven.

    So, you have the function switch, oven thermostat and safety stat.

    The safety stat I doubt as the main oven would be chopped off as as well if memory serves but it’s here anyway:

    Easy enough checked, if it’s open circuit then it’s had it.
