ParticipantIs anyone else using this and finding it ridiculously slow during working hours.
I use it for BSH and was quite happy with Quickfinder, but now this has been introduced can take upto 20 mins to order spares for one appliance, which is just not cost effective.
With a larger server this tool would work well (hint hint)Greg

just had a look at http://www.tradeplace.com it is like Agora, indeed many of the manufacturers on tradeplace are one and the same as Agora, Brandt being the notable exception.
Apparently you can register for the parts service for free, assuming you have an existing account with the manufacturer concerned. Service info needs to be paid for. Hvnt tried to register yet but will give it a go when I get all my account numbers together.March 17, 2005 at 8:18 pm #129178gegsy

We was quite happy using Quickfinder until one day we couldnt use teh download part to gain diagrams etc. We rang tech guy at Appliance care, said that they werent using Quickfinder anymore and that we had to use Tradeplace.Com.
We are agents for them just to clarify. I take it you are also agents for BSH, please PM me with details of new Quickfinder please.
Many thanks
Greg

No, not an agent just an account holder. You mean you used to use the Quickfinder disc? And this is no loger around, right?
The Quickfinder I am talking about is on the net at https://quickfinder.consultens.com/gbBut is parts only and no tech info.

Reading between the lines as it were on David Hazzard’s (from Indesit) recent mail-shot promoting Tradeplace. It appears that as far as Indesit is concerned at least, they are leaning heavily on this Internet platform in order to increase their direct spare part sales. And that in the not too distant future more ‘technical information’ will be given out by them but only to those who can afford the high cost of Tradeplace registration?
The majority of independents however (me included) are less than happy at ordering directly from manufacturers and instead get a much better deal from the various wholesalers dotted around the UK. So for me at least I will continue to stay faithful to my wholesalers and get a better price, better delivery and better service. The only unfortunate consequence of that is that I still need to buy the 6 monthly Partfinder disk in order to keep up to speed and that grates me more than just a bit. 👿
The idea of Tradeplace however is very good (crafty move by the Dutch that one! 😉 ) uniting the main brands under one portal. But if the past comments of using their website are still valid, it seems a costly con to paying through the nose for spare parts at manufacturers prices. :rolls:
Thanks but no thanks!

Hi Martin
I must admit, since my last posting last year about the website being slow and timing out, they seem to have sorted the glitches out and it runs like the clappers now  Broadband is a must with it though 😉
I would recommend anyone now, price and cost effectivness taken on board; to use it, it is invaluable an easy to use unlike some I could mention. :rolls:HTH

So what’s new here?
Has Tradeplace gained any ground (since this last discussion) as far as the indies are concerned? Is this the way forward for tech info, spares supply etc?

Not from what I saw of it last time I looked a few months back. No tech info, just parts lists so far as I am aware.
