    Hello people,
I have a 6 years old Indesit WIB111 that today stopped working.
Basically I was doing a normal wash cycle (rapid wash, program 3) and after wash it got stuck on drain.
After resetting it, I tried to restart the wash cycle and after the initial water fill, the washing machine got stuck again.
No error codes are shown on the front LEDs, I can hear some relays clicking but nothing else.
I thought the problem could be on the water inlet solenoids, but their value is about 3.4kOhm each, so they should be OK.
I am wondering whether it could be a problem of motor, brushes or something else… Unfortunately I never checked how the cycle starts, if after the initial fill the drum turns or if the second fill happens just after the firs.
I don’t want to call a technician for a job I could do myself having a service manual and spend 100 Euro to replace a 10 Euro part… and by the way I don’t trust to call one where I live… :rolls:
    Any advice?
    Thank you.

There are no service manuals to speak of. I would be checking the motor brushes first of all. 😉

Yup, already ordered, I didn’t remove the motor yet but I’ll do it tomorrow afternoon and check.
Could you please confirm that after the first water inlet the drum shall turn and then another water inlet happens?
The fact that I don’t have any error code and I keep hearing relays clicking, when I am on spin program the pump works but the motor doesn’t move make me think that it is a motor issue but I would like to know whether there is something else to check (solenoids, switches and so on).
    Thank you.

It’s an Indesit, the fact that anything works at all is minor miracle most of the time. No point worrying about anything else until you have checked the brushes. however ordering them first before checking is not the best course of action. This machine uses three different motors for a start so you need to remove to inspect and verify just which motor is fitted.

    Re: WIB 111 stuck

    Hello again,
this morning my wife started the washing machine (even if I told her it was not working) however it started working fine, but now I get an alarm code and is stuck again…
basically I see the power LED flashing fast (the red LED), while the AntiCrase LED (the first on the left) is flashing slowly, something 0.5s on and 0.5s off…
Could you please provide a list of the fault codes given by the washing machine?
    Thank you.

For the third time I ask you to please take the motor off and check the brushes before you run it again, running a machine with worn brushes could lead to far more expensive failure. 🙁

    Hello Iadom,

yes I know you asked me to remove the motor, I disconnected the plug and told my wife to don’t use the washing machine, but she didn’t listen and used it again this morning.

I discovered it when I went back home this morning to pick my cell phone.

At least I had some extra info I didn’t have on Sunday.

This afternoon I will remove the motor and bring it to my workshop to check it. By the way is it a normal 220VAC 50Hz motor or something particular?

    Thank you.

It is a ‘normal’ motor but heaven knows why you need to take it to your workshop. You cannot run the motor out of the machine in any safe way. You can check the brushes in 30 seconds once you have removed it from the machine. Changing them takes couple a of minutes, either on the kitchen floor or on top of the washing machine with suitable protection.

    Hello iadom,
I removed the motor and as you predicted the brushes are worn out, length about 5mm on the shortest side.
Bringing it to the workshop was just to clean it from the ton of dust and graphite that scattered inside the motor.
About the brushes, their code (or at least what I think is) is 54S5009-02-02.
The motor is a Welling HXGN2I.07. Do you have brushes for this motor?
    Thank you.

Part number is C00273898, usually sold as a single item for some daft reason, you need two.
