Approx 11:20 on This Morning there’s a thing about sealed tanks apparently.

Just caught up with it on +1 what a load of old Tosh, nothing about how cheap they are know compared to the 30 odd year machine mentioned.

As for the advice on aftercare it’s nothing different to what we have been telling customers for years. I suppose now it’s been on the telly people will now believe we have been telling the truth all these years.

Much more in depth, if not as in depth as some might think it ought to be. But, better.

I suspect though that like the TV thing, getting the message across without losing people or doing it in s set amount of time and space isn’t easy.

But consumers aren’t going to stop buying them any more than the manufacturers are going to start fitting split drums.

The sealed drum is ‘built for life’ and life for a washing machine is short anyway whether they have a split drum or not.

Independents may faff about changing bearings but the vast majority are scrapped anyway due to pure economics. ‘Tis the way of the world and all that. 😀

Nothing new, as discussed numerous times, its how long the sealed drums are designed to last that matters. Oh, plus the fact that the manufacturers charge £100+ for a tub alone.

The only difference between split and sealed is the manufacturer makes more than the peeps charging to do the repair. The clients paid either way. Since repairers have been slagging off manufacturers for yrs and since neither owe the other their hardly gonna tip the profit in favour of the other.
