Hi it’s me again, I had an engineer out to my fridge freezer and he replaced the heater and the thermofuse in the fridge section. This was on the 3rd of June and about a fortnight later the freezer started flashing the temperature at -16. So I phoned him up and he told me to turn it off and see if it reset it’s self, if it didn’t it was probably the PC board that had gone. I did what he said and it seemed to be ok. But last night the temperature started flashing again so I turned it off again and it stopped flashing again and has gone from -2 to -13 when I put it on power freeze. The top shelf had defrosted but the rest of the freezer was still frozen solid. Have you any idea what this problem is and what part I might need as it has already cost me £155 and I don’t really want to pay another £155 or more out again. Thanks 😥 😥 😕

    Hi

The engineer has the responsibility of diagnosing the fault correctly. I would very much doubt that the PCB has failed and would need to be confirmed correctly. The engineer should come back out and check that the parts where fitted correctly and have not gone faulty again. By switching off and back on only terminates the defrost and resets that side of it. I personally would still be looking at the defrost components within the fridge section and ALL of those functions can be tested without turning the appliance off. Make sure that the appliance has not been turned off for 24hrs before the engineer attends as the main pcb holds the defect code and the area that the appliance has failed.
