Hi – On completing the cycle the display shows ‘Finished’ but does not beep and turn
off. On opening the Door display shows E:01. The machine though carries on working.
This has now happened twice, with a couple of normal washes in between.The error code page indicates a power module problem, and that this can only be fixed
via technical help due to the need for ‘configuration’. I do happen to be an electronic
engineer and have various equipment (oscilloscope, meters etc), and I wondered if there
were more specific information regarding the ‘configuration’.This, assuming that at some point the machine will stop working?

The moment the dishwasher completes a normal cycle, switch it off at the wall. Leave it off until next time you want to use it. Most E:01 errors occur as a result of users not turning the darn machine off for hours!

I will try, however surely the machines are designed to work regardless, there is certainly nothing in the user manual about switching off power.
However it has been unusually warm recently, so maybe there is an overheat issue. Maybe I’ll take the door apart and have a look. Though I wouldn’t of thought much dust etc can get in there?BOSCH SMU49T12SK E:01 but Still Works
The module isn’t located in the door but on the base behind the right hand panel. It’s an appliance designed for the Scandinavian market so we have no equivalent to it here in the UK.
Manufacturers in the UK always stress switching the machine off and the end of each cycle. We have had many instances where the electronic circuit boards overheat and fail in dramatic fashion with dire consequences. The crazy design of the later series of Bosch dishwashers where the main circuit board is close to the floor at the back means that it suffers the same vulnerability with the added attraction to rodents, slugs, snails and all manner of invasive creatures find a home around the main power house…..German engineering gone mad I’d say. 😉

Well,the power module looks brand new. No nesting thingies 😉
Anyway, had originally thought it might be the power module due to this page:

But it appears to be wrong since on another page the specific error and when it occurs is described:

The first page mentions ‘SMS’ models, the second page makes no reference to specific models.Do you think it could be a water fill problem?
