ParticipantWater intermittently drips down at the back of the biofresh compartment and pools there. The Liebherr 7082 499 manual states:
“The refrigerator compartment defrosts automatically. The water that forms on the rear wall drains into a reservoir at the back of the appliance and evaporates automatically through the compressor heat”
Has something got blocked? The manual is silent as to what channel or tube might need to be unblocked and it is not obvious on inspection. Otherwise everything seems to be working fine. The unit is about 2 years old and has only started to do this in past 2 weeks coinciding with hot humid weather. What can we do to rectify this please?

Hi
More than likely a food blockage in the drain hole. Video on You Tube may help.

Thank you. I have already worked out that there must be a blocked drain hole but as I stated in my original post there is NO obvious drainage hole visible at the back of this model – otherwise I would not be raising this problem here. Since the cooling apparatus is hidden away I assume that any drainage hole will be hidden behind a panel. It would be very helpful if someone can tell me whether I can access this – and if so what panel(s) I need to remove and how. Or do we need to get an engineer out to fix it?

Thank you kwatt. That would be very helpful. The service number is:
9988615-09On the line above I also have CBNES 6256 Index 201 / 001. Not sure if this may help in identifying the model

No, there’s no drain. It’s a French door type unit, completely frost free and air driven fridge and freezer so, not so simple as Don thought. 😉
First thoughts would be a sensor or the door closure not quite right but I’m guessing at it as I’m not familiar enough with that machine to be specific.
Lots of fresh food can cause that as well, unusual but not unheard of as it will “sweat” inside the fridge.
However top choice would be one of the sensors, there’s one at the evaporator on the rear and one mounted in the central support between the salad/crisper drawers at the bottom. One of them out would quite possibly give you this as a fault.

Sorry Kwatt you are not correct, it is NOT AIR BLOWN the fridge section does have an evaporator plate and a drainage hole. A giveaway is the fact each compressor has a drip tray. And the evaporator is seen clearly in the parts diagram.

Eh, the big evaporator plate with a fan motor mounted at the top of it is bit of a clue there. 😉
I’m afraid it is an air blown fridge, albeit the air is not syphoned off from the freezer like a US style.
It will defrost and drain perhaps, as I said I’m not that familiar, but even allowing for that any drain will be behind that rear wall and hidden, not accessible by the user and therefore highly unlikely to be blocked.

I agree it is not practical for the customer to dismantle to check the drain hole, but as it has one it is possible for this or the pipe to block.

Thank you to all who have commented. Based on what I am reading it sounds as if we will need to call an engineer to get this sorted out
