Our machine has just taken to failing with a flashing rinse light as soon as rinse is required. This has happened on both 30deg and 40deg programs, but not on the dedicated rinse setting.

Any ideas? We’ve only just started a wash and could do with a solution urgently

First thing to check is the drain filter.

An update: It appears to have stopped carrying out the wash motions at all — just takes on water, sits, drains, and then doesn’t start the rinse cycle and just sits with the rinse light blinking.

This does not apply to the Rinse/Freshen Up setting, and I have just established that the Easycare programs appear to function correctly — it’s just the Cotton settings it would seem! So it would appear to be more complex than a blocked drain filter or even a bog standard programmer failure.

    The motor brushes need replacing.
