    Hi there and thanks in advance for any assistance

    I’ve read a few of the existing threads on here so hopefully have gone a little way.

    The washer is four years old and today on a 40 wash it tripped the RCD. Since discovering this fault I’ve:

    Tested the spin only, cold wash and drain and all work fine – i.e. do NOT cause the RCD to trip.

    Ive tried it on a 30 wash three times and it consistently trips after 9 mins. If the program is not advanced and the RCD is reset it continues trips the RCD again.

    So what are peoples thoughts? Is it likely to be the heating element?

    I havent taken the washer apart yet (I’ve never done this before) until I hopefully get some guidance. Hopefully some kind soul will advise me if its feasible to easily fix.

    If it is this element are either of the below likely to fit (note the first is half the price of the second).

    Certainly sounds like an element fault but needs meggering to be certain

    Thanks for the reply Andy

    Ive taken the top and back off (note that I also took the front off but there was no need for this model) and removed the element.

    Removal of the element took a bit of tilting of the machine and drum but has come out.

    Th element has got grey scale along its full length apart from an inch which is black and looks ‘blown’. Is this unusual?

    Think I’ll order a replacement and see if it fixes it.
