    Hi,

My Hotpoint WD420 flooded from the bottom last night when I had a wash on. I thought there may have been a wire stuck in the filter prior to that as the spin cycle was extremely noisy lately. I cannot find how to clear out the filter anywhere. Can anyone help?!

If it really did ‘flood’ then it may well be a write off. The noise could have been a large coin or similar which may well have punched a hole through the very expensive outer drum. 🙁

Remove the mains plug, lean the machine back against a wall or something and have look underneath with a torch. You may be able to spot any such damage.

This machine does not have a user accessible filter. You have to remove the main sump hose from behind the small, lower back panel.

Thank for your response iadom – I did not see the damage myself but my flat mate said there was water “everywhere”. I may run it again and see for myself. Hoping it’s not a goner!!!

How do you remove coins/wires/buttons etc if you cannot access the filter?
