Hello, I wonder if someone could help. I need to fit a new small drive belt on the motor in my Beko DCU 7230 S (the old one has broken). I have a replacement belt but I’m struggling getting it on. I’ve exposed the motor and removed the mounts so I can kind of move it but I can’t get the belt on. The spindle on the end the belt goes is in the plastic casing at the back of the dryer and I can’t pull it out to slide it on.

I thought I might be able to remove all the wires from the motor and slide it on from the opposite end but I don’t think the belt will stretch around the motor. Has anyone changed a belt on one of these? I’m kind of struggling!

An image of it is here:

    Thanks.

The motor should slide / lift out. You then fit the small belt with the motor out.

(That’s assuming you have removed the rear fan.)

Thanks for your reply, I managed to remove move the motor and have it out, having real difficulty fitting the belt now though. Is there a trick to easily get it on? Mananged to just get it on once but it wasn’t in the center of the grooved spindle so moved on the smooth pulley as it wasn’t straight!

You probably need to replace the small pulley as well
