I have the above appliance and the pcb is not displaying any life. live and neut feeds ok and switch seems ok. no signs of damage or burning or popping.
I can replace the pcb but am always conscious incise any components have caused the damage.
Dose anyone have any experience with components causing dead pcb or should i just chance it.
there will be a low ohm resistor as the power goes to the board. normally value under 100 ohm. if this has blown it may be just this resitor or the power chip that supplies the board. dont just bridge the resistor in case power chip is short circuit, it is meant to act as a safety fuse
Can you post a picture of the board components ? There should be maybe 5 chips/triacs grouped together in one corner . Check to see if any of these have the top ‘blown off’ a little . If one does , post the pic and I’ll see if i can let you know what it controls .
That looks like a blown triac there and if it is the one I think that has a blown top , it’s the water point motor that’s gone so you’ll be looking at a new heater box AND module.
If you look at the collection of 4 triacs , the one slightly away from the others had a small section missing from its lid……that’s the one that’s failed.
