I hope you see this before you dash out to buy a new fridge/freezer or call an engineer.
I have just had a similar problem with my frost-free Liebherr; posted on this forum just a few days ago under the title:Liebherr Fridge Freezer Temperature Problems . The advice I was given was to switch off, empty the freezer and allow to defrost for 24 hours, as the pipe behind may have become blocked/frozen. It is certainly worth a try (also potentially avoids paying a hefty call-out charge).
I am currently in the process of doing this and certainly I did have some ice on the inside of my freezer which should not have been there. I now also have water collection in the reservoir on top of the compressor, which was not there previously, so hopefully the tube has unblocked.

(Just spotted this thread, which is also well-worth reading and may shed some further light on the problem: Miele kfn 12823 FRIDGE not working but freezer fine – fan??)

thanks for that will try switching back on today to see, but i took the panel inside freezer off last night and heat exchanger completely free of ice.
surely if the compressor is coming on all the time then the control side is working ok and it may be faulty compressor can anyone verify this ????
    thanks
