Hi,
Our Baumatic B180ss-B 10 year old oven has died and we need to replace. (Grill element set on fire and the element is £60 to replace and I am unsure if other issues caused the grill to set on fire ? so am loathed to buy new element to find out it is not needed)
The B180ss-B was quite shallow (52cm) and we need the same again or as near as possible.
Reason is there is a gas pipe running behind it.
To make things harder we are due to have a new kitchen fitted early 2016 and the oven we buy now will be no longer needed so I am looking to spend as little as possible.
Any advice on a suitable low cost fan assisted oven with grill.

Replace the grill element is your best, most obvious solution. Grill elements can fuse rather dramatically as you have noticed but replacing it won’t cause problems TBH. Get your local repair person in to sort it and check the overall integrity of the appliance for greater peace of mind. 💡

Is anyone aware of any shallow fan asisted ovens so I could compare fixing price to getting a new oven.

Hi
We deal with 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the brands currently available in the UK and I do not know of a 52cm oven I’m afraid, let alone a budget one.
If you are having a new kitchen fitted next year then the cheapest option is the repair as Martin suggested. It’s that or you have the gas pipe moved which is probably an unnecessary expense at this stage.
