Zanussi ZDT12011FA intermittent fails to fill

Hello,

I’m reluctant to do anything before asking for advice on this, as this problem is intermittent. Once the dishwasher fails, if I leave it for several hours or overnight, it works again.

Please can you advise what the most likely cause is ?

I’ve looked at the Zanussi fault codes page (http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/faul … codes.html) and yes, when the error occurs I get the flashing light.

However, according to the user manual supplied with the dishwasher, my “alarm code”, which is “end indicator flashes 2 times intermittently” and “acoustic signal sounds 2 times intermittently” , is for when the appliance does not drain the water !

To be clear, I get the “does not drain error” when really the dishwasher is failing to fill up with water, and this is intermittent. (although not so intermittent that it isn’t a problem – it can happen every 1-2 days)

I’ve checked for kinks in pipes and this doesn’t seem to be the problem, but obviously, I’m willing to look at this again if necessary.

(typically, the dishwasher is now 13 months old, with just a 12 month guarantee!)

Any advice would be gratefully received.
