I’m looking for a dishwasher. I want something plain and simple and that works well. Above all else I need it to be quiet. I’ve looked at Which ratings, but they don’t rate on noise. I’ve had Bosch in the USA and they are quiet, but in England their nose level is high at 48db. However, the quieter dishwashers seem to be the cheaper brands and I don’t understand this. Which models should I look at? I don’t want to spend more than 500.

48db is quiet for the UK, Bosch have one of the quiet machines I know of at 38db. These are for freestanding machines. Integrated quiet is 39db. Again research at http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/ is a good place to start.
