hi, my zanussi de6744 seems to please itself when it wants to work at temperatures over 50 degree’s, when it does there is a slight leak from the left hand side, but when its not working properly it will start the cycle but stop just after it spits out the soap tablet. sometimes i can cancel the cycle 3 or 4 times, reset, and it will work ok. any help much appreciated.

Strangely enough Ronnie, this fault is almost certainly unrelated to the temperature selection, but more likely to be the water level control system. The clue being the leak…….

There is no simple and easy solution on this one, unless you are very brave I would suggest professional assistance.

Check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.

thanks for the reply, does the job require specialist equipment? i am mechanically minded and don’t mind having a go at repairs of things like washing machines, tumble dryers etc.

No particular specialist tools, screwdivers and pliers are enough. However, the IWMS is £60 some, so I’d be tempted to get some help as there is NO guarantee of this diagnosis – it does need to be checked out fully as there are other (admitedly less likely) possibility.
