ParticipantHello,
Elektro Helios TT1168 washing machine starts spinning like crazy in normal washing program. We set the program and start, it takes the water in and then the drum spins full speed (instead of slow/normal washing speed). This causes machine to jump around and also spit water out (top loader) from the top.
Any ideas on what may cause this symptom?
Thanks

Long time no type Yurtesen 😀
The tachometer generator on the end of the motor needs checking out. Wires to it broken? Magnet loose? Coil damaged?

I am still amazed that people remember me here after all this time. I hope you are all doing great. Unfortunately I do not own any whitegoods (besides a fridge) so I rarely have problems related to them, but I have friends who always break their things :p
I will check the tacho coil and return back. I should have opened the machine and check things out by now but I thought this time I ask first and maybe save some time. It seems obvious now that you tell it and I did a web search about the tacho coil failures.
I will return back with more information once I get inside the machine
Thank you very much!

Hi Martin,
You were absolutely right!
I moved the machine and there was a washer (more like a flat cogheel with jagged edges) under it.
Then I opened the side panel and I saw that the tachometer was lose. I just pulled it out and saw a magnet with a plastic screw type shaft lose also. I screwed in the magnet and tightened by hand while holding the drum (otherwise it kept turning slowly when I tightened the magnet in place).
Then pushed in the washer and apparently the edges are suppose to keep it in place, then just hit it in lightly until it went tight.
Actually, it looked exactly as in this photo.

It is funny how easy it is to find the article after the fault is fixed 😀Thanks!
