Hi there folks, Trying to do a recon up for a freind (why is it never straight forward when its for a freind or family!) anyway it came in with the condensor box shook off, sorted that out with new bracket. Just about to get the old faithful shrink wrap out when after the final spin decided to put it on a quick dry cycle and noticed that there was no drum action or pump out on dry although the heaters and fan were on. as it was timer and module in one thought the obvious and changed the timer, still the same! I might be wrong but i thought the dryer timer only switched the heaters and fan so i dont think its that.Am i missing the obvious ????March 22, 2005 at 11:22 pm #129781Dave_Conway

This may be daft, but how long have you left the dryer on for after it starts ?
These take an age to start drum rotation after the onset of the drying cycle, been caught like that myself on one of these Hybrid timers 😕

Hi Dave, Trird that too, but even so the pump should run constant on these machines, iv’e stared checking other non related things like if the by chance the wash heater is down to earth and broken wire etc but to no avail.
If i stop the cycle and put it on a spin, i get motor and pump action straight away.

The clues as to what could be wrong are often in the original fault….? I would check your wiring to and from the heater box if I were you 😉

Try tightening each pin in all the edge connectors on the timer/mod with a stanley blade. It only takes one loose one to give both these faults. Tony EMW

The WD21 Manual 5400680 issue 2 April 97 does not include a timer cam sequence chart but Manual 5402520 issue 2 April 97 for the WD51 etc does, page 17 shows that the pump feed during spin is controlled by cam 8 to to 8a, but during drying by cam 10 to 10a, this would suggest the advice to check all the edge connections and continuity between them is the way to go.
