ParticipantHI,
I have a approx 2 year old Beko Frost Free Fridge Freezer model CDA543 FS2.
Freezer works OK but just recently the back of the fridge from the top to half way down has started to ice up and (this is freezing the food)
On checking the appliance it has 2 PCB/ Circuit boards, 1 on the back at the top and the other 1 a smaller one underneath the housing unit for the internal light and thermostat dial.
I have replaced both of these pcbs with new ones with ease and plugged the 3 or so wires back in – Hoping it would fix the problem but it hasnt 🙁
So What next ?, any suggestions appreciated.
Im a bit stumped either I call out an engineer or get a new one for £300 quid or so 🙁
Help appreciated.October 29, 2015 at 9:56 pm #431029jskelton555

Almost sure to be short of refrigerant, the thermostat is sensing the temperature of the evaporator which should be at -18C or greater, if the unit loses its gas its ability to get the evaporator down to -18c is reduced. What then occurs is that the unit runs constantly not allowing a defrost period and the back freezes up. If you stick your head inside can you hear a gurgling rather than a hissing?

Is it possible to refill with one of the units you can use to refill a cars AC system or is it specifically Freon you need to use.
In that case is there any wy an ordinary user can do it themselves?
Something like this:-

No. You cannot DIY fridge regassing.
You’d need specialist equipment as it’s a sealed system that needs opened, recharged and resealed.
