bosch smv50c00gb ‘water supply light’

I’ve got a bosch smv50c00gb integrated dishwasher and I’ve just come home to find the water supply light illuminated, my dishes are half finished and the cleaning tablet is still in the recess (albeit looking a little sorry for itself).

I’ve tried to clean everything (filter, nozzles etc.) but to no avail.

When I set the machine to perform a rinse as a test – it pumps for a few seconds as normal, pulls water for a second… Pumps some more (I think)… pulls water for about 5-10 seconds, pumps some more (maybe 20 seconds or so) then clicks and stops. The ‘End’ light is now flashing and sometimes the water supply light is on (but not always)

After reading up on here, I’ve taken the machine out, and checked for the usual water in the base – but its bone dry – never been wet.

A couple of things that are troubling me…

First – the ‘flood-stop’ inlet hose has been pushed up against the machine when its in situ, and some sort of heat (not sure whether its the body of the machine itself or the wire within the outer hose) has discoloured it as well as moulded it to the bitumen-type stuff on the back of the machine. Is this to be expected?

Second – the inlet chamber / fill matrix / inlet manifold looks blocked solid in one area. When I’ve set the machine to perform a rinse, water doesn’t go past this point – and I’m wondering if this is causing the problem?

Any ideas whats going on here? And what can I do to fix it? It looks as though even if I can get the manifold/matrix thingy off all the fittings – I’m not going to be able to clean it out properly… Can these be replaced?
