    Hi,

Strange one but i’ve just had my father in law on the phone. He lives a couple of hundred miles round trip from me or I would be there looking at it now.
He’s got an Electrolux washer dryerr EWX14450W – 914606001/01 and its dead.
He was an electrician so he’s done the usual and he checked while i’m on the phone to him. Fuse ok, socket working with another appliance plugged into it, live/neutral going into mains filter and coming out of the other side etc.
    No display or led whatsoever.

I’m pretty sure its going to be the pcb. On this model is the PCB just the facia/display one or does it have another. Is there anything else it could be before I order a pcbs and make the long trip.

Any help would really be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Nick

It has two boards – one is the main control PCB that fits behind the fascia and one is a drying module that piggybacks off the back of it. The mains power will be found to go into the main module at the back of the blue selector switch and then nothing on any selector position.
Usually caused by burnt shorting door interlock; take out the lock and examine it. I always fit a new lock for peace of mind when fitting new PCB’s to this range.

    HTH,

    Steve.

Make sure the dryer element is not down to earth as this can cause this fault

Ive talked him through taking the PCB out and he said that the tracking is blown. So either the door lock or something else has blown it. So i’m going to have to take a look at it for him.
    Thanks for all your help.
