ParticipantDear forum members,
My washing machine broke last weekend. Luckily for me (so I thought) I had a spare old washing machine that I had acquired around 18 months before and had been stored in my shed until now. The washing machine was not very old when I acquired it and was working fine. The shed shows no evidence of moisture when I have been inside.
I connected the washing machine and switched it on, it lights up, the door locks, but will not start. No program will start, including spin only cycles. After leaving the machine for about 5-10 minutes after clicking start on a program the following lights flash constantly like a disco ‘Super wash, extra rinse, mini load, reduced creases, and start/pause’.
Would anyone be able to assist me by diagnosing what this error code means? I have searched the manual and other information online but have come up empty.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Martyn

Ignore the flashing lights, error codes are given with the bottom five vertical lights on steady counting from BOTTOM to TOP.
Lights 1+2 = F03 NTC(thermistor) short or open circuit. The NTC is the small temperature sensor that slots into the water heater, could be loose wiring contacts.

Hi,
Thanks very much for getting back to me. Just to check, there are 6 lights including the key lock symbol. Do all of these count towards the error code e.g. it represents error 3 as you suggest or does the lock door symbol not count and therefore only error light 1 is relevant?
I just wanted to double check before I cause any (more) damage as you state five vertical lights.
Thanks again

.
I don’t think I can put it any clearer than that. 😉October 23, 2015 at 4:51 pm #431775washermad

Thanks for confirming! I’ll start tinkering.

Hi again,
I completely removed the water heater and then the NTC from the heater. I put everything back together and switched it on.
Now when I run a program it does nothing for a while (as before), but then the light which indicates the stage it is on, spin for example, stops being lit.
All the same lights as before begin flashing Super wash, extra rinse, mini load, reduced creases, and start/pause’ but this time only the door lock on the 5 indicator error lights remains lit. The washing machine emits a noise (which is also new) like it is trying to do something, sounds like a motor, but it does nothing.
Am I correct in thinking that this means it is now fault code f01 and is more than likely the PCB that is dead?
Thanks

Worth checking the motor carbon brushes if you can.

Ok thanks, will try that.
I turned it off for a while and now it is back on and has returned to the original F03 error. Seems to be somewhere between the 2 errors…
