    Hi, hope you can help!
I have a three year old White Knight vented dryer447WV, a very basic model but it has served our family of 6 very well. Recently it has started cutting out, originally after it was hot, but yesterday it tripped after only a few minutes. My wife has been resetting it by switching off at the wall and then on again and it continues for a while. It doesn’t seem to make a difference whether reset by plug or red button on the rear.
I have thoroughly hoovered the vents and they weren’t that bad anyway. It is vented through a hole in the wall and this is fine. The drum turns smoothly but has on occasion made a quiet clunky noise before stopping but not every time. All the electrics in the back are clean.
It appears to stop after a pause as its a reverse dryer but I’m not sure if it’s every time as there’s no way of knowing if it was due to pause.
I have it running now and it seems to be perfect until!!
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

    Tumble dryer keeps tripping.

Most common fault is the thermal cut out behind the circular heating element. Checking it involves dismantling the back panel and removing element. Be sure to note where all the wires connect to what before dismantling. We cannot help you if you don’t help yourself on that one.

    Re: Tumble dryer keeps tripping.

Thanks for the reply. Out of interest, how much is a new part? If it’s nearly as much as a new unit, given its over three years old, I may as well get a new one.

All parts for these dryers are cheap. Whatever is at fault it is well worth fixing IMHO.
