    Hi all
    Just bought this American stile fridge freezer with ice maker left it 24hr then had it running 8hrs with no problem.
    Today it triped the power after 25 min. I have bypassed the thermostat in the fridge checked the defrost timer and element. All working.
    After it trips it won’t turn back on just keeps tripping. Left it several times throughout the day powered up with fridge thermostat set to 0 to test freezer. Then turn fridge thermostat up to 1 or 4 no different still only works for 25 min.then trips rcd Any ideas. ?

    Hi, I would suggest you unplug all the power supply connections to the defrost heater and overheat protection stat in the freezer section.
    There may be an earth short on the heater, which only becomes active once stat reaches temperature and makes a circuit to heater.

    I’ve turn the knob on the defrost timer and set it to defrost mode checked the heater element with my finger and got burnt lol. So it’s not the elemant or that circuit. It’s when the fridge is in normal operation only get 25 min exactly everytime.
