ParticipantHi all,
Well might be a long shot but thought I would ask the question to see if this machine is fixable.
My Mum acquired this machine (Miele Professional WS5425 MC 13) a few years back but has recently been giving a few problems.
When put on a hot wash, recently it went beyond the set temp and smoked out the laundry, works ok though on a cold cycle. A Tech was called and reset and diagnosed and nothing said to be wrong electrically. Also the Main Wash LED is blinking when you turn the machine ? Was also going to check the heating element and thermisotor.
Eventually the machine was taken in for repair and came back with an absolutely ridiculous price to fix stating it would need a new control board and relay. So the question is is it possible to purchase the parts from a supplier and fix yourself? Assuming the suggested parts are available in New Zealand.
Would appreciate any help on this if possible, its a beautiful machine and would be a shame to trash because it is too expensive to fix.
Regards …. Dean

this is getting to be an old machine but a good one
i would check the thermistor and look for broken wires in the loom as it leaves the drum. the flashing light is a fault code and maybe another member with access will help with that
spares are only available from miele and are expensive. you could look on ebay and see if anyone is selling second hand sparesDave

Also if anyone is able to offer any assistance on how the front panel is to be removed please.
I’m not able to get to the machine but can pass on the instructions if possible please.
Even better would be a manual but I understand that is only for techs, so a bit of advice would be great.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

3 bolts round the door
remove soap draw
remove 3 screws 2 left and right of soap draw and 1 just to left of soap draw (will be torx 20 screws)
open filter cover and unlatch the small plastic drain pipethe whole front of the machine will now hinge open, there is a metal clip at the bottom left hand side which sometimes needs helping to release

Oh fantastic that’s great thanks Dave.
Now not sure if this is the correct description but removing the sequence knob on the circuit board. ? Bit hard when I cant see the item but is there a knob of some sort that needs to be removed from the circuit board.
Also I will attach a picture of the parts list that they say is required which can’t be purchased in NZ.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get these parts mentioned in the attached pic please.
Can’t thank you enough for your assistance ….. cheers

OK managed to work it all out, it appears some of the tracks on the circuit board have corroded possibly due to a leaking rubber hose on top of the machine a while back (Since replaced)
One of the relay’s has also welded at some point as well so looking for these parts currently. If anyone has a line on these parts could they let me know please.
Kind Regards

if the tracks on the pcb are the only damage you could solder wires in their place and cut the old track at both ends to stop any shorts
