Could anyone please advise me on how to get my door open.

There is no water left in machine, all cycles work OK.

Door catch is broken. There is no ‘click’ when I try to open door and no pressure, just a floppy movement.

My washing is in the machine and I need to get it out. 😥

Many thanks for taking the time to read this. 😀

It’s not easy to advise on this Rosie as one method involves you putting your arm inside the machine which could result in cuts and/or electric shock unless you unplug it :zap:

The other is to try and “persuade” the door open which may result in further damage to the door and/or the door locking device.

If you can see any part of the actual latch that goes in to the machine from where the handle is, you may be able to push it just far enough to get the door open, otherwise it’s time for a call in the morning to a local repair guy in the hope he can get there on the same day as it’s a bank holiday weekend as well 🙁

    Hi Dave,

Just had to thank you. 😀

Took lid off and found it quite easy to locate catch, which moved when pushed with the flat side of a screwdriver.

The plastic door catch had snapped and wasn’t moving the locking hook.

Have now replaced and everything is working OK.

Many thanks for the help and advice. You saved me a small fortune on repair bills.

    Thanks again,

    Rosie
