Hi, We’ve got a Beko fridge freezer, nearly five years old American style. It’s started making a racket today. Squeaks and crackles earlier this evening, and now it’s making grinding sounds and rattles.

Is this kind of sound safe and what would you advise?

Not easy to discern but it sounds like a fan hitting something, although were that the case you’d expect it all the time, not intermittently like that.
Without knowing what machine it is and being able to see the setup it’s hard to guess at though.
