My 10 year old Indesit WD12X has finally died. The dryer died 5 years ago and now the washer part programmer seems to have given up the ghost. Have asked about a repair but the repair guy said it would be more cost effective to buy a new one!

I’ve read SO MANY reviews my head is spinning. I’d thought of another Indesit, a Bosch, a Hotpoint….but then read bad things. Can you please help.

Single occupant user, lots of dirty clothes from mucking out horses and doggy paw marks, lots of towels too from dog grooming. I want something that will clean well (obviously), be cost/eco efficient, reliable, reasonably large drum so that I can get bedding into it without doing 3 washes like I was doing with my little 4kg drum Indesit. My current washer is an integrated type, but will give a free standing one a go if it’s worth it.

My budget isn’t great, circa £400, even better if there’s an offer on. I had looked at this one but don’t know if it’s reliable or not after reading on here that some Bosch are not great… Bosch Serie 6 WAQ283S1GB 8Kg Washing Machine. Also saw mention of Siemens washers somewhere on this forum……arghhh. Thanks in anticipation of your help.

    Hi

Bosch and Siemens are the best of what’s produced these days for your budget.

The best offer I can find is this Siemens at John Lewis It comes very near to the top end of your budget but if you register the appliance you can get an extra three year warranty for free which considering your usage is a good buffer.

There is also a part exchange code you can enter as well for £30.00 🙂
