    Hi Engineers,
I appreciate your advice and answers.

i have the Hotpoint FFFM 180 Air Tec Evolution – Fridge /Freezer- Free standing.

The problem my brother have is the freezer works, but the fridge does not cool or it is not to the cool enough temperature.

    Fridge light works.

I have checked the back of the freezer and the fins are all clear, compresser looks new (not checked, but visual) and the fridge looks new, as he hardly used it, as he had it turned off from the mains for a while about 3-6 months.

Condenser tray is dry and above there is black rubber hose, which i think the water drains out, this also looks clear.

What could be the problem or do i switch the fridge/ Freezer off for 24hrs.

Is the freezer getting down to an average -18?C?

By the looks of it and, I’m guessing here as I don’t know the unit, it’s likely to be an air diverter valve (if fitted), fan motor (if it’s a blown air fridge as it looks to be), a sensor, or the compressor.

You’d need to prod about a bit to find out.

    Hi Kwatt,
    Thank you for your reply.

I am sure it is pretty cold, as the food is well freezed and and you can tell the freezer is working, as you can see it has frost and cold.

I do not Know the Temperature of the freezer, unless if i place a thermometer to measure the temperature.

So you suspect fan motor, sensor, or the compressor.

I can here the compressor kicking in when i take the plug off, so this might be serving the freezer only.

How do i check the fan motor, sensor and the compressor, as i have the multimeter to check the fan motor componenet, but i am not sure about the sensor or the compressor.

I do not understand what you mean by this point ? (You’d need to prod about a bit to find out.)

Frozen doesn’t mean safe for freezing food. 😉

If the temperature wasn’t low enough it could indicate a compressor issue or sensor so, until you know that it’s total guesswork to be honest.

Compressor running does not mean it’s running as it should be.

Fan motor, I think it’s a low voltage one so continuity same as all really. Sensor and compressor are harder.

By prod about, I mean investigate and test all you can.

    Hi Kwatt,
    Thank you for your reply.

I will check the tempearture by placing the thermometer and take it from there.

I will check the continuity of the Low voltage fan motor.

So i will investigate and take it from there.

    Thank again.
