My daughter’s tumble drier stopped turning after something got jammed in it. I suspected brushes or the belt although I have never worked on a TD.

I am really struggling to see how the case comes apart on this model. I have watched several You Tube videos on other Hotpoint machines and it is normally the top comes off and then the side. On this model however, the sides and top are one piece. I have removed loads of screws from the back, the lower back left adn right sides, and the lower front, and now it is really weak – but it won’t come apart.I have opened it enough to see and extract the broken belt but not enough to replace it.

Please can anyone give me any tips. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

You have to remove the screws holding the control panel on too in order to lift the cabinet up and away!

    Thanks Martin,

I thought that might be the answer, but I cannot see how to access those screws. (I cannot even see the screws themselves). Where can I get at them?

Pull the timer knob off and all will be revealed. 😉

Thanks iadom – I did try that but pulled so hard without it moving I thought I might break something – I will try prizing it off.

Use pliers to get a good grip.
