ParticipantHi All. I have been having a problem tracking down the problem on my Bosch WAE24469GB Washing machine.
It gives me the error code F17 which according to the guides on this site (and elsewhere) is a filling problem. It stops about 8 minutes into a 15 minute cycle (not sure about the timing on other cycles but I’ve just been using the 15 minute as it’s obviously quicker for testing).
I have replaced the inlet valve with a new one which hasn’t solved the problem. I have also read here that it could be the pressure switch. I have removed that and tried to test it with a multimeter although it’s hard to hold it, the pins on the terminals and blow/suck at the same time. Even so, I’m not seeing any response at all on my multimeter (set to 200 ohms – is that correct?) when I alternate sucking and blowing. I have tried it across all 3 terminals in different orders.
Should I see a response on the multimeter? Is that sounding like a winner?

not sure if this is one of the later pressure switches
did it click when you blew into it?
if yes its the old type and it will be ok and you prob did not get the right terminals
if it did not click then you have probaly ruined it by blowing into it

Bah! Yes it makes a noise when you blow – you can hear a diaphragm moving (at least I assume that’s what’s going on).
I called the good people at whitegoods this morning and they said it’s a Bosch only part. It’s only £6 so I’ve ordered one to give it a shot. If it’s not that part, any suggestions on what to try next? It’s 5 years old, well used (2 small kids) and we live in a very hard water area so I’m thinking it might be terminal?
