Participantthe dryer has been acting up recently and now refuses to heat up.
ive pulled the back panel off to find two thermostats, one with a reset button one without. the reset button does not seem to operate it is stuck down. when i get a battery for my multi meter ill test both thermostats.
is this my problem, asking because of the reset button being stuck down? or is it the pcb board. it looks all too common for the thermostats to fail on beko dryers, with heating elements being out of stock at most outlets.
the heater element comes with thermostats and are pricey 50 pounds, even though the house has been recently rewired were seeing dodgy electrics that has caused the dryer to trip. burning the stats maybe?

I would wait until you have a battery for your meter to check the thermostats before rushing into anything else. There is a way you can check them without a meter but can be very dangerous for the electrical uneducated. The reset button you speak about is down because it hasn’t popped up popping the thermostat this doesn’t mean that the other thermostat hasn’t blown so both will need new checking.

i dont think the thermostats are replaceable, they come fitted with the heater element unit.
ive contacted beko and they have suggested that their out of warranty repair team will be ‘happy to be of assistance’ !
after the fire hazard recall and number of heating elements that seem to go pop on these i thought they would be more helpful.

The ‘other’ 1, next to the respectable thermostat which hasn’t bpopped up, is in fact an NTC

It is a complete heater unit only, it’s the only way that Beko provide the part, listed here:
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/2970101 … ment-11414
This sort of thing with full assemblies is increasingly commonplace I’m afraid.
There are no specs whatsoever on the thermostats or NTCs used, as usual merely a manufacturer part number at best where they can be ordered but, in cases like this, there’s simply no info on them at all.
The sum total of the info available is like this:
Replacing the stat/s without knowing that they are correct would be total guesswork and, when you’re talking about something that is or could be a safety concern, nobody’s going to do that.
Sorry but, the only option really is to change the heater assembly.

ive finally got round to replacing the heating assembly with thermostats included, this is the part given to me,
http://www.beko-spares.co.uk/products/p … =38&p=7639there are several part numbers this one is 2970101500
with the failed one being 2970100200 replaced by beko with 2970100900.had a good look around inside puzzled as to why condensation and fluff are free to rise and make contact with the heating element from the blower?
realised the ‘jockey belt’ is cracked and ready to give, after 2 years?
