ParticipantHi
Has anybody had experience of this problem with this model or similar please?
This occurred after pyrolytic cleaning.
Did a factory reset – didn’t help
With the door locked you cannot remove the unit from the carcass as the door obscures the retaining screws.
However with some “jiggling” the door skipped the catch.
I reseated the connectors from the boards to no effect.
I could not see any damage to any components/boards at the top.
I removed the door locking device which also houses the internal light switch plunger.http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/cookers-hobs/zanussi/door-lock-with-motor/242699.htm
(this pic shows what I think is similar but with the catch in a higher postion ie open?)
This is mine

” alt=”” style=”max-width:100%;” />The servo motor tested ok for continuity but I don’t know whether its mechanically sound.
So I don’t know if the problem lies with the unit or the main board or a sensor.
If it is the mechanism I not sure whether to dismantle it and attempt a repair?
The oven functions fine without the device but the light has to be removed as it’s on all the time.
Not sure whether its needed to hold the door shut in actual operation to help seal or for other reasons although no heat seems to escape.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi
Update, may have solved it – took apart – I think it maybe it a faulty micro switch: showing a fluctuating higher resistanceNovember 24, 2015 at 3:55 pm #433041kwatt

Do you know the PNC number as there’s multiple variants?

Yeah, I see it, complete assembly and not cheap either. The best I could get it was as shown here:
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/38710900 … -door-lock
The main board’s a possible but I wouldn’t have thought that likely from what I can see from the layout of it. And, it’s not cheap either as I’m sure you’d guessed already.

All that is inside this is a motor with a cam some simple plastic linkage and a couple of micro switches
I will replace both micro switches (as one of them although not totally open circuit is not right indicating a fluctuating resistance of 80 -300 ohms) they are cheap and worth a try.
Do you know where I could obtain a schematic / circuit diagram of this oven please?November 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm #433045kwatt

The only place you’ll get a diagram for it is from Electrolux and they’re not usually willing to give them out to the public lest some should fries themselves then sues Lux for it. The same reason we’re prevented from doing any number of things, blame the politically correct litigious society and ambulance chasers along with insurers that won’t cover such things.
If you can swap the switches fair enough but in Lux’s eyes it’s a sealed unit and the internal wiring of it, if that’s what you’re after, wouldn’t be given anyway.

It’s not the door mech wiring I want as that’s just a simple PCB! its the overall oven diagram I would like.

Yeah, you’d need to ask Lux for that I’m afraid.
We’re not allowed to redistribute a lot of stuff like that due to copyright, insurance and all that. 🙁

It’s not sealed, the top is clipped on.
Fixed now
All done for £2.50
Thanks 😀 -
