ParticipantHi,
My Bosch WVT1260 is getting long in the tooth, but has given fantastic service and I’d like to save it if I can…
The motor has been noisy for the past couple of months and then just stopped the other day. I removed the motor and stripped it. The rear bearing ball race holder has started to collapse and a couple of shards were inside the motor. It looks like one had arced between a brush holder and the tacho ring. The thermal fuse was open circuit so I gave it the knock (found on this forum thanks!) and it reset. So far so good. I reassembled the machine and no go.
So this evening I dropped the motor off again, made a wiring harness and plugged it in. Away it went so the motor is good – save for the bearing.
So I’ve clearly now got a problem somewhere else. I’ve had a look up top but the circuit board is well shrouded and it looks like its going to be a real struggle to get it out to inspect. There are no obvious fuses, etc that I can see.
Any thoughts about where to look next, tips, suggestions gratefully received.
Cheers

The suggestion might be the tip, likely to have taken out the main pcb. 🙁

Thanks iadom – I think!
Be a shame to tip it. Guess I might try stripping the top end down to have a look. Not a lot to loose at this stage. Ever done one?

At the price the PCB is no, you never know, you may be able to find a second hand one somewhere.

Fixed.
I managed to wrestle the PCB out after quite a struggle and found one of the motor loom connector tracks had blown underneath the plastic housing. Some solder, superglue and a lot of patience and its all good.
Need to get a new motor now…
