ParticipantMy dishwasher bleeped 4 times and came up with error code F04, looked it up and it said Flood. The motor continued to run after I pressed the off switch. I turned it off at the mains and left it a few hours. I later went back and tried it again on a hot wash (empty) and it was ok. I then got some finish cleaner and ran that through thinking the pipes may have been clogged with grease, I have used it a few times since and thought it was sorted but yesterday the code came up again and motor continued to run until turned off at the mains tried it again today but still the same. Do you have any ideas what may be the problem please?

Sounds like the flood protection is flipping on so, there’s probably a leak into the base from something.

Further to my query, I got a local repairman to come and fix it, it seemed to be leaking from a seal of some sort which he tightened, said it should be ok. Second time of using same error code came up again. Got him back and was told I needed a new flow meter(Big white plastic thing on left hand side) I had to wait while the part was ordered and delivered. He came yesterday to fit it and I thought my problems were over only to use it today and the same error code to come on again. I have paid 60.00 callout, 90.00 for new part . I have just been in touch with him again and he is going to come back but I hope he does not tell me it needs another new part because I do not think spending any more on it is going to be cost effective. I would have rather been told to scrap it in the first place. Do any of your experts know what else this F04 error code can be and when he comes again I wil lget him to check.

The engineer is in the right area
Water is either leaking from somewhere like a faulty seal OR is overfilling with water which in both cases then spills into the base where it is detected by a float switch which gives a fault signal F04 followed by 4 beeps
It is a good sign that he is coming back, he should check the appliance with side panels off and a good light so he can really see where this water is coming from
I cannot imagine him charging more money – he sounds honourable and close to the truth of the matter -
