    I have a Whirlpool Electric Oven : Model AKG 217/WP
    The clock is not working.I was wondering if I could disconnect the clock and reconnect the wires to by pass the clock function and use it as a manual oven.

    Need advice before ending up doing something stupid.

    For safety reasons or, politically correct ones depending on your point of view, we can’t tell you explicitly how to do that but, it’s not hard to figure it out on most.

    On almost all there is a live that is switched, neutral and an earth.

    Basically the clock is a big mains switch, all it does is make or break the live feed to the oven.

    From that, if you’ve even a basic understanding of electrical stuff, you should be able to work it out from what’s in front of you.

    Thank you .

    There is a Red and Green on one side (I guess Red is the live and Green Neutral) and two Reds on the other side (I guess Live and Earth)

    I had figured that I need to connect the 2 reds , just feel a bit anxious about connecting to the wrong red on the other side (I guess no damage will be done if I end up connecting the live to earth).

    Any suggestions or help with colour codes will be helpful and I completely understand the reasons why you cannot guide me through the process

    Track it back. Two will be inbound from the terminal block.

    Two outbound to the selector switch.

    It was pretty simple to do , once I got to know which one was the live coming into the clock .
    The oven is working fine now
