    Hi my washing machine got half way through a wash when it tripped the RCCB. The fuses on the plug and socket are fine and the moulded plug looks OK . tired a different socket and still the same problem.

    Any idea what is might be? I think we have had a few E3 errors every so often.

    The model is PWDE 8148 S.

    Could it be the heating element?

    two most common things are heater and motor

    try disconnecting the wires to the heater. make them safe and see if it trips then

    Hi thanks for that

    It was the heater in the washing machine I have undone the wires but the rubber seal is stuck. Any tips of getting it out? If not I will have to cut it into bits and get it out that way. I have used the screw driver but I dont want to damage the plastic around the hole.

    undo the nut in the centre to the top of the thread.

    now tap the nut and it will go in

    that releases the rubber seal you can now take out the thermistor which gices you a useful hole
    can be tricky to get them out just be careful and patient
