    Hi Folks

Need some of your experienced advice here:

Went to this and clean filter light coming on after about 5 mins on a timed dry.

Checked filter, condenser and ducting for any blockages all clear. Fans and motor working ok. Also tried on synthetics and no difference in time before light comes on.

    Questions:
This machine has several sensing programs as well as timed programs so could this be a sensor problem apart from the usual thermostat and toc fitted to the heater? If so where is the sensor fitted and how accessible is it?

I didn’t try this with wet washing in as none available but didn’t think Hoover/Candy had got that sophisticated yet! Didn’t see any sensors in the drum either – unless they are hidden.

Customer also said that originally stopped with both clean filter and empty water lights on. Is this a fault code? She also feels that it seems to overheat?

Grateful for any help or suggestions.

    Thanks

    Mick

You don’t say if it’s heating up all. In my experience your fault has always been the high temperature thermostat open circuit, which means a new element assembly.(why can’t we buy thermostat kits like on Hotpoint). The customer did say it’s been getting too hot which points to the cycling stat failing.

    Thanks for the reply Bob.

Yes – the drier is still heating. Hence I tried it with the Acrylics button operated thinking it might just run at half heat and tell me if it was an overheating problem. Not sure though if the Acrylics button works a temperature setting or switches out half the heater – should have got my ammeter out to check but as it didn’t make any difference I moved on to checking the heater and rear panel for blockages – all which were clear.
