    Hi folks

I had the brushes replaced on my washing machine about two months ago (by an qualified engineer). About 4 weeks after that job the machine began leaking water on the spin cycle. I’m trying to find out where the water is coming from but no success so far.

I’ve tried to open the filter to check if there is anything stuck but when I twist it the front black cover comes off but the rest of the filter is stuck in the machine. Is there a way I can release the white but by going at it underneath the machine?

It’s approx 8 years old. I’ll be charged another call out by the engineer so I’m just trying to diagnose the problem (ie the possible cost) before I contact him again.

    Thanks in advance.

Leaking on spin is almost certainly due to a hole appearing in the grey rubber door seal and that seal will need changing. As for the pump filter jammed, yes you will need to remove the pump from underneath and take it apart to clear the blockage within. If you try forcing the filter you will break it for sure.

I would advise calling your guy out again to fix BOTH problems. 😀

Thanks Martin. I’ll give him a shout tomorrow morning.
